Dr,I am a 61yo psychiatric RN diagnosed w/ PD 12/08. My PD is managed by a MD Neurologist and with Stalevo and Azilect and my chronic depression/anxiety by a psychiatrist with Cymbalta and Klonopin. I have been treated for depression and anxiety all of my adult life. It's frustrating that I can't seem to find anyone who seems knowledgeable about treating the depression and anxiety even though I understand that these emotional diagnoses are present in 40-60% of PD patients I know it's not a cookie cutter question/answer but is there an antidepressant(s) that seem to treat these symptoms best w/PD patients considering the dopamine deficit?? Are there some antidepressants you should NOT take?I find that psychiatrists in general do not have adequate knowledge regarding the special needs of PD--ironic considering the prevalence of emotional imbalance. Thank you
