Carbidopa 25 mg / levodopa 100 mg tab generic for sinemet 25/100 tabs.
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
About three years ago my Internist gave me a medicine. It is: carbidopa 25 mg / levodopa 100 mg tab generic for sinemet 25/100 tabs. I saw spirits in my house, I had headaches, I got extremely dizzy and laid on the floor and my wife poured Gater Aide into me and water. The doctor (Dubin) told me to stop taking it. Now, my neurologist has prescribed the same medicine for me. I advised Dr Dubin and he said that it is the same thing. I am a bit afraid to take it. Is it possible that 3 years later that I would have a different reaction or would it be the same? I have not started taking it and my wife said that she wants to be sure to be near me when I do. Please, give me some general answer as to your thoughts on this matter. Thank you.
Tremors inside his body
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in April of 2006. One of my husband's symptoms does not seem to be classic Parkinsons. He has developed trembling hands occasionally, but a major symptom is tremors inside his body, inside his chest and stomach, to be precise. However, his local neurologist says that he cannot say that those tremors are caused by Parkinsons, but he does not know what causes them. The severity of the tremors inside his body has increased. He has discussed these tremors with his family doctor, as well as with his pain management and orthopedic doctors. None of them understands what he is suffering and they have no explanation for the interior tremors which are often extremely painful. Sometimes the "Stalevo" and "Bromocriptin" dosages control the hand tremors well but relieve the interior tremors for no more than two hours, and at other times the medications have no effect on the interior tremors. The interior tremors began a couple of years ago when he began to have extreme pain in his xyphoid. That pain spread to his ribs and eventually it seemed to be mostly in his back. It became a burning pain at times. An MRI in 2008 revealed arthritic deterioration consistent with a person of his age. (He is 71 years old, having been born in November of 1938.) He consulted a chiropractor also, who eventually advised him to have another MRI because he saw that he could help no further. The next MRI, performed in the spring of 2009, revealed compression fractures in the thoracic and lumbar spine. An orthopedic surgeon performed kyphoplasty to fill in those gaps. A month later he was having extreme pain in the lower lumbar area. Another MRI revealed new compression fractures, and another kyphoplasty was performed to fill in all the areas.Shortly thereafter the pain returned to his xyphoid and ribs, although he continues to have burning pain in his back at intervals. A couple of weeks ago the pain management doctor gave him an injection in his back, which has given some relief from the burning pain.My husband's latest symptom began two or three weeks ago. Regardless that the daytime temperature inside our home is a constant 72 degrees and the nighttime temperature falls only as low as 68 degrees, his body alternates between feeling extremely cold and perspiring as though the room were overheated. This alternating between cold and hot (perspiring) continues day and night, although at times he feel that the temperature is comfortable. He was never overly exposed to pesticides, merely during ordinary lawncare. His occupation did not expose him to pesticides. While living in Connecticut we did have well water in our home; however, we purchased bottled drinking water. Please advise if your research has encountered and diagnosed any problem of the interior tremors.

In your opinion, where will the next breakthrough come from in the research studying the cause and cure for Parkinson's disease?
