My husband has just been diagnosed with mild Parkinson's disease and started on a small dose of Sinemet. His neurologist has ordered a brain MRI and an EEG test. Are these tests generally recommended and necessary?

regarding Oxybutynin, pill is too large for me to swollow.also my problem re sleep seems to be the awful inner tremors that keep me from even staying in the bed to try to fall asleep.just a thought - do you think that for these reasons, i might do well to take sinemet first and then see if my sleep improves?also, one more question for now, is why the sinemet in a dissolvable tablet for me rather than a pill? just wondering
Sensitivity to Temperature Changes
Wednesday, February 17, 2010
I realize that we are having unusually cool weather here in Florida but since I was diagnosed with P.D. I belive I am more sensitive to hot and cold. There seems to be a 5 degree window where I am comfortable. Any hotter I sweat and colder I get the chills. Is this part of the Parkinson's symptoms or is it just me and the aging process?
Should I get a second opinion?
Monday, February 01, 2010
In November 2009 I was told by a neurologist that I had early Parkinson's Disease symptoms -- Stage 1. He prescribed Requip but after 8 weeks symptoms got worse. In January 2010 he said that the disease has progressed to Stage 3 and prescribed Sinemet 25/100 3 times a day. After one week he raised the dosage to 6 times a day. It made me feel much worse. I'm now on Stalevo 100 3 times a day. Should I have been put on any medication at all, since I felt and performed better beforehand?
